Am planning to throw hubbie birthday bash and was considering several options for catering and finally decided on Lemonade. I originally found the West Hollywood location about a year ago and was thrilled that they opened in Brenwtood in May 2011. My preference is to get a couple of salads and the ahi tuna or salmon but I am always tempted by their braises. The salads are completely original – for example, I love the watermelon radish, ahi, snap peas, black sesame and ginger salad. Another favorite is the butternut squash, chicken and grapes. Lemonade braises are cooked for hours in beautiful Le Cruset type pots. You can taste the deep flavors in these braises which change daily. My favorite is the red miso beef short ribs. I also love the lemongrass chicken but they currently don’t have lemongrass so I am out of luck. You can’t write something about Lemonade without remarking on the insanely delicious lemonade flavors they offer daily. My favorite is the watermelon rosemary but the blood orange is also delicious. Other lemonade flavors include blueberry mint, cucumber mint, peach ginger and kiwi strawberry.
They also have beautiful desserts and prices are very reasonable – a dozen cupcakes for $11 and a full cake for $33. I actually ordered his birthday cake for Susie Cake but I plan to order some of the Lemonade macaroons, bars and cookies to supplement the dessert selection.
